Before and after

A fun little before and after on a night with a gorgeous sunset. During a shoot i’ll often only show clients a couple of photos from the back of my camera (if any) and usually this is why. I know what it’s going to look like on the other side, but if you saw the photo on the left you might be a little concerned. 🤔

The COVID19 Positivity Project

Positive reflections on turbulent times.

I started this personal photography project due to the extra time I had on my hands (thanks to COVID19). Like many others my workload was significantly impacted in the last three months. As someone who loves to be productive it was surreal and jarring to suddenly have so much time on my hands. After a day of feeling disappointed and down I decided to instead be grateful for the extra time and reflect on what I love about photography.

Out of this the Positivity Project was born. One of my favourite quotes is, “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light”. My goal was to find out how other small business owners were ‘turning on the light’ in what had otherwise been a turbulent time. I asked them for one positive sentence, letting them know it could be about absolutely anything. Over the next week I’ll share with you what they told me.

I hope you enjoy getting to know these business owners and their take on the silver lining of a dark cloud – that we are hopefully now coming out the other side of.

I have been intentional about not letting this time stress me. I decided to use it to better myself, fulfill myself so I am able to fulfill others. It’s been great to have the time to put pen to paper and write (1).png

I’ve been thrilled by the number of people who have decided to adopt a pet in this time, with the adoption rate increasing by 70%. Hundreds of pets are now in loving homes instead of shelters..png

COVID19 has given me time to reflect on how much I enjoy my job and working with beautiful brides and their wedding parties to make sure alterations are perfect for their special days. I treasure being busy, and loo.png

We have been incredibly lucky to not experience a negative impact from COVID, and during this time we have adapted and innovated our services. With an increase of adoption rates, we saw a big leap in the number (2).png

We have been able to provide a safe, happy and social environment for dogs while their owners were working from home during COVID19. With the dogs in daycare, owners were able to concentrate on their work – instead .png

I had to learn how to be kind to myself. Being the busy person I was, I had never really spent time by myself. Isolation forced me to learn how to slow down and entertain myself. I started running, read books, l (1).png
